Beautiful violets, red cherry, hints of blackberries. Palate is perfectly balanced with tension and fruit, crushed rose petals & ripe orange. 100% Sangiovese from Romagna, a region that was not known for this pure style of traditional yet modern winemaking in the 1970s when Sergio and Thea Navacchia embarked on their journey. The name of the wine, "Campo di Mezzo" comes from an old map meaning of "no man's land" or "land in the middle" which describes their family's estate in Imola, at the intersection of Emilia and Romagna. The family continues their venture today with their sons David and Vittorio making supple, gentle and evocative wine.
