90% Carignan and 10% Mission from 85-year-old vines on clay in Tecate. Destemmed and co-fermented in concrete tinaja.

Noel Tellez founded Bichi in 2014, starting with a small cellar and some old vines in Tecate. He works with his family as well as collaborating with local growers and winemakers, The name Bichi means “naked” in the Sonoran Yaqui dialect, where his family is from.  A fitting name for this pure, natural expression of the land.

The 2021 vintage is an exciting new phase for Bichi with Noel reducing his production to refocus on farming his own vines and dial in the precision of his winemaking.
