Blueberry, black plum, black tea and cocoa on the nose; medium-bodied palate balances black cherry, plum, mushroom + black licorice notes.  A robust styled Shiraz, typical of the region shows even more balance along side meat dishes with its spice-driven finish.  Thomas Goss and his wife Mary arrived to the McLaren Valle in the mid-1800s, some of the original pioneers of the area. The grapes in this Shiraz are sourced from multiple vineyards, including those planted on the original Goss property. (90 pts JS)
