Scarpetta was created as an homage to the everyday Italian lifestyle of "drinking good wine, great conversation, and little moments of celebration" by Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey and Chef Lachlan Mackinnon Patterson. This bottling takes us to Monferrato in the Piedmont region of Italy, the "birthplace" of Barbera where the grape has been cultivated since at least the 13th century. Crushed berries with deep nuances of terroir, it is bold in character yet light on its feet, built for pairing with typical Italian food. "Scarpetta" refers to a small piece of bread used to soak up the last bit of sauce on your plate at the end of a meal.
