Sul Vulcano

A volcano-goddess stands out on the label of Donnafugata's "Sul Vulcano" Etna White. Its intense colors, reds, yellows, iridescent blacks, are those of the highest active volcano in Europe. An ancient, powerful and feminine divinity: "the Mountain" as Etna is called by the locals. "Sul Vulcano" is a declaration of love: a pure and lively wine, with a distinct mineral taste, a wine that allows you to breathe in the energy of this unique place lying in the center of the Mediterranean.

Straw yellow in color with golden reflections; this wine presents an elegant bouquet of mineral notes, fresh citrusy aromas of citron and grapefruit, and delicate notes of white flowers. Well-integrated tertiary notes of ginger and vanilla are also present. On the palate, it is enveloping, fresh, and savory, with an elegant minerality and persistence

Refinement

The wine was aged for 10 months, mostly in tank, while a small portion was aged in French oak, in second- and third-pass barriques.

This was followed by bottle aging for approxi-mately 16 months before release.
