Salty, briny lemon, a note of cream, shortbread, yellow flowers. Succulent, with ripe lemon, a touch of pie crust, and oodles of bright, fresh acidity with a volcanic mineral energy. 100% Falanghina from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, the only active volcano in continental Europe.  Fourth-generation (to the pasta-making enterprise) Massimo Setaro founded Casa Setaro in 2004, beginning with his family's small pre-phylloxera holdings around their hometown of Trecase on Vesuvio's southern slopes. His own-rooted vines (as this zone's volcanic sand is inhospitable to phylloxera) are farmed organically with biodynamic principles.
