Salty air, Bosch pear, wet stone, magnolia trees. Palate is saline driven with golden apple, lemon curd and white grapefruit. The Val di Noto lies at the same latitudes as North Africa’s arid desert climate. The vineyards are a few kilometers from the coast, with grooves of ancient olive and almonds trees breaking the wind off the sea. Winemaker Dario Serrentino describes this coastal growing area as "a desert next to the beach". From these limestone soils he produces wine with tension, freshness and complex salinity, drinking them is "akin to a dive into the nearby Ionian sea on a hot summer day." 90% Grillo, 10% Catarratto.
