Toasted caramel, hazelnut, freshly baked cherry pie. Palate is precise yet rich with refined ripe cherry, structured with gentle French oak. 100% Pinot Noir, all from the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA which sits on the terraces of the Santa Lucia mountain range, influenced by the breezy and foggy Monterey Bay on California's Central Coast. Spanish missionaries planted the first vinifera wine grapes here in the 1790s, yet the area wasn't really established in the 1970s. This area is highly sought after for its Pinot Noir grapes from winemakers across the state.  The Strangeways name is inspired by the Emu, pictured on the label.
