A unique find from the Central Coast this is 100% Melon de Bourgogne, most famously used in Muscadet from the Sevre et Maine region in France. Known for being minerally, brisk, refreshing, saline driven and great with seafood, this is an off-the-beaten path expression from the Chalone AVA in Monterey County. The Rodnick Farm block of Melon de Bourgogne was planted in 1985, farmed organically for decades. The duo at Birichino are enamored with championing forgotten grapes and old vineyards and paying homage to the native expressions of varietals and terroirs.
