Delightfully robust and nuanced, with layered black berries, bing cherry and spiced citrus mingling with espresso, nutmeg and grip. D'Avino Family Wine is a project of Sequum Wines out of St. Helena, California. Giuseppe and Antonia D'Avino emigrated from Taurasi, home of Aglianico in the Southern Italian region of Compania, to the United States around the turn of the century. Setlled in Pennsylvania, Giuseppe would purchase Zinfandel grapes travelling via rail from California to New York during Prohibition, from which he made table wine which locals adored. This project honors the Davena-Skinner ancestors, the D'Avino family from Taurasi.
