Pine forest, mint, wet hops, basil, balsamic. Dark chocolate with dry, firm tannins on the palate. Intoxicating, in a romantic way. Podere Palazzino is a humble, organic-farmed father-son run estate (Alessandro & Edoardo Sderci) in the southern part of Chianti. Primarily Sangiovese producers, "Stagi" is 100% Colorino, a grape known for its deep color, traditionally used to deepen the hue of wine. It is tannic, but this rendition is so captivating we had to share it with you. Fermentation and maceration with the skins in steel, matured 18 months in old barriques.
