Black fruit, strawberry, floral tones. Soft palate, with marine influences. The fruit comes from relatively young vines, planted in 2010 yet exude the sense of place. Puglia has a long history of agriculture, for many centuries operating as sort of plantations. The "masserie" (castle/farmhouses) were built in the 16th century; by the 1800s many were in disrepair. Masseria Li Veli, has been rebuilt and restored in both the late 1800s and again in the 1990s by the current family, the Falvos. 100% Primitivo. PS "Orion" refers to the ancient wall that served as a boundary of Salento, when it was once a Greek colony.
