Dark, concentrated berries on the nose, intermingled with pencil shavings, menthol, herbs, sweet eucalyptus. The palate slides in with bright, elevated, ripe blackberries then moves to a burst of a finish, with clove and bright tannin. Really fun, new generation of Paso Robles Cabernet. Key is the vineyard, Margarita, which is cooler, and higher elevation, letting the grapes hang longer to reach ripeness. Loaded with pure, clean fruit but leaving room for depth, terroir and character. From winemaker Chris Brockway (Love Red + Amore Rosso from Broc Cellars) and Tim Elenteny. Aged 10 months in mostly neutral French Oak barrels.
