Viña Sastre Flavus Blanco
In collaboration with Gerardo Mendez of Do Ferreiro Jesus Sastre decided to produce a wine with some very old plantings of Jaén and other unknown white grapes that were interspersed in between old vines of Tempranillo.
Rich, layered mineral notes combine with wild herbs and on the palate the wine has heft and density with a striking minerality. Viña Sastre is a family-run winery located in the heart of the D.O. in the town of La Horra. It boasts some of the oldest vineyards in the Ribera del Duero region. Committed to organic farming and biodynamic agricultural principles, all their wines are made in the most natural manner. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ribera del Duero, Spain
