Seashells, brisk lemon, mandarin, lifted white florals. Palate is minerally and linear with a soft edge of fresh squeezed lime. 100% Melon de Bourgogne from 35 year old vines in Muscadet Sèvre et Maine. The appellation is named after two rivers that cross the vineyards - the Petite Maine and the Sèvre Nantaise - southeast of Nantes. Vinification and aging is done in concrete vats buried underground with brief aging on the lees for 6 months, providing a gentle, alluring texture. Maison Bretonnière has been in the Charpentier family for four generations. Since 1989, the estate has been run by the two brothers, Pierre-Yves and Patrice.
