Dusty blackberry, ripe raspberry, vanilla creme, purple flowers, milk chocolate, tobacco leaf. Smooth with elements of tension, cocoa and black cherry. “Les Champauvins” are plots in the Champauvins and Coudoulet lieux dits located on the border of Châteauneuf du Pape, less than 10 feet outside the appellation. A small lane of rocks going through the rocky plateaux decided the limit in 1936. Reference the back label of this wine, and you'll see why this Cotes du Rhone drinks like a "baby" Châteauneuf du Pape. Plentiful rocks cover the soil accumulating heat, transferring to the vines at night, producing a unique phenomenon and resulting wine.
