Brooding lilac, baked blackberries, fresh cut cedar, blueberry. Fresh, packed with bright red berries, cranberry and cocoa on a grippy and stony mineral palate. 100% Carignan from 40-80 year old dry farmed vines in the tiny Coteaux de Cabrerisse appellation, a wild and rural area with extremely stony soils. Winemaker Anne Sarda must work her vineyards by hand due to the intense landscape. In the cellar she works with a delicate touch, where the wine is fermented with native, ambient yeasts and aged in concrete vessels up to 105 years old. Imported by Mary Taylor, who works with tiny producers in unique and sometimes obscure appellations.
