Bright cherry, elusive sweet spices reminiscent of the far east, with sweet orange and peonies. Palate is jeweled and soft, delicate and precise. Wild flowers laced with cocoa and herbs. Winemaker Marelise Niemann is considered a "Grenache whisperer", gentle with her intuitive handling of this grape. Her passion for Grenache results in consistently elegant expressions of the varietal. This wine comes from low yielding bush vines planted in Paardeberg in the Swartland. Hand harvested, fermented with indigenous yeast. Held in old French oak foudre for malolactic fermentation and aging. Bottled unfined.
