Fresh blackberry, cedar, star anise, tobacco leaf, forest floor on a sultry, elusive nose. Palate is clean and light, with black raspberry and stony minerality. 100% Pinot Noir from 30+ year old vines, planted amongst Jean-Paul's Gamay vines in Charnay, a village in the Southern Beaujolais just north of Lyon, in a beautiful area known as the "Terres Dorées" or Region of Golden Stones. Brun is a purist, looking to express the vines with as little interference as possible in the cellar, this wine is fermented in concrete with wild yeast, then bottled with minimal filtration.
