Plush minerals, perfectly ripe blackberry, sweet violets. Delightfully playful and elegantly structured with balanced berries and minerality. Traditional vilification, wild yeast fermentation, aged in barrel. Domaine Rostaing is known for their legendary Côte Rôtie bottlings in the Northern Rhone. "Le Vassal" comes from the property René Rostaing and his wife purchased in the late 1990s in the Languedoc. The soil is covered with galets roulés, very similar to those found in parts of nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape, giving the Rostaings a chance to produce Syrah on these prized limestone soils.  70% Syrah with 30% Mourvedre & Grenache.
