To say that Pedro Parra is obsessed with terroir is an understatement - his PhD and Masters focus on the relationship between terroir and wine, making Pedro Parra y Familia wine release so exciting.
He is well known for his work with other wineries, but this is his own project in his homeland. Itata is where Chilean viticulture started 400 years ago ... let's say he's going back to his (and the wine) roots of Chile. Itata & Cauquenes.
"Imaginador" is predominately Cinsault - red fruits and complex soil notes;
"Pencopolitano" is a bit more rustic, mineral-esque blend of Malbec, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignon, Pais, Carmenere.
