Llama Old Vine Bonarda / Malbec
105+ year old vines irrigated with snow melt from the Andes Mountains.
Bonarda / Malbec blend. Full bodied with plenty of terroir, dark fruit flavors, kirsch notes and well integrated tannins. The nose is intoxicating and the wine is big but supremely balanced. Alto Agrelo Valley—Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina
From the Winery:
Old Vine Blend
LLAMA as its namesake, this wine embodies the distinctive spirit of our vineyards, spanning the foothills of the Andes. This blend brings together two of its most renowned varieties Bonarda and Malbec, Each are aged individually for six months on 3-year-old French Oak Barrels and then blended together to age for a minimum of six additional months in bottle.
This blend boasts an elegant aromas and flavors of plums, cherry, and violet flowers. It is ripe with strawberries and dark fruit. This full-bodied red finishes with well integrated tannins and moderate oak.
This blend can pair with a handful of dishes but a few we highly recommend trying are: baked ham with a honey, Dijon and thyme glaze or an old fashioned meat loaf.
