Strawberry fields, tangerine, violets, baking spice. Palate is defined by bright dark berries, herbaceous qualities, ripe citrus & hickory undertones. A remarkably unique expression of Cabernet Franc, seemingly made for warmer summer temperatures. Winemaker Callan Williams makes wine with edge, authenticity & character from the coolest wine region of South Africa, Elgin. In this area grapes can hang later on the vine without over-ripening, pulling more character from the terroir. She picks the Cabernet Franc for "The Bruce" late, named after Bruce Springsteen, and then ferments naturally before aging in French oak barrels.
