Ripe black plum, forest berry compote, with hints of pepper, spice. Satin soft palate, with a bright core of berry fruits and hints of spicy oak.
Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill Vineyard, originally named Wolta Wolta in 1977, with the intention of producing “some of the best Riesling in the Clare Valley.” He subsequently planted his award-winning Shiraz in 1979.
The rugged terrain is the ideal environment for his low-yielding Shiraz vines - resulting in expressive and nuanced terroir-driven wine.
