Buddies and winemaker rockstars -- Pedro Parra, Francois Massoc, Paco Leyton and Albert Cussen -- started Clos des Fous in 2008 to upend the assumption that wine from Chile was boring, industrial, and overripe. They sought out vineyards that experience extreme conditions to extract the terroir and then produce the wine with minimal intervention. These wines are on the forefront of the next generation of winemaking.
