Compass Chardonnay 2015
From the Dreyer Family Wine Company is the "Compass" label.
Harvesting grapes from Mendocino & Sonoma counties with its ideal climate for growing Chardonnay (sunny during the day, cool at night) resulted in a wine that is balanced, complex and harmonious on the palate.
Ripe pineapple, golden apple and Anjou pear flavors are balanced by citrus notes, finishing smooth and creamy. The combination of lots from both barrel and stainless steel tank fermentation adds dimension, making this an "irresistible" chardonnay.
“The Compass name is inspired by our family’s history and travels to many points across the globe.”
The story begins with our family’s adventurous navigation across the open seas from our native Europe. To escape the ravages of war, sails were hoisted and our compass set for a long journey to South America. First, the family settled in Argentina to tend fields and farm, before their continued migration to Chile. The agricultural roots and wanderlust to explore guided our family to the fertile lands of California where they eventually settled.
Today, Compass works closely with vineyards throughout California to produce wines under the California Appellation enabling us access to a vast array of vineyard holdings. Our time is devoted to scouring all points of California’s compass to source grapes of the finest quality to produce wines that are consistent vintage to vintage. Balance is key to every wine we make.
Our goal is to provide superb quality at considerable value. Navigate your way to Compass Wines to find a wine you love.
