Seghesio Barbera d'Alba, 2018
Boysenberry, cassis, graphite. Red raspberry compote, tobacco, purple flowers. Give it a little air before drinking -- decant, swirl or just open the bottle an hour or so early due to its recent release. The Seghesio family bought the estate in 1964 after the sharecropping system ended, selling the grapes. Brothers Riccardo and his late brother Aldo started Estate bottling the wines in the late 1980s. This is a long time favorite here! Italy in a bottle. Super food friendly. 100% Barbera.
