Baked blueberry + blackberry, hints of pomegranate, spices; huckleberry, saddle and sage.  Hints of bay leaf and tobacco.  On palate, a concentrated blackberry comes forward, enveloped by rich, yet edgy tannins.  Rounded and balanced; mineral and stone tones. Established in 2001 by husband and wife Morten and Lisa Hallgren, they were leaders in creating bone-dry minerally Riesling in the Finger Lakes region. Morten was raised in the Provence area of France at his parents winery estate were he learned his early viticulture skills.  100% Cabernet Franc from 16 Falls and White Springs vineyards. Aged one year in Hungarian oak casks.
